Jeffery C. Blankinship, a resident of Dallas, TX, has been in the healthcare
industry for 30 years, following his graduation from Southern Methodist
University. Mr. Blankinship began his career in Southern California, establishing
a network of industrial medical facilities which evolved into one of the
first networks of pain management centers throughout the west coast. Upon
returning to Dallas, he became involved with the home health care industry,
physician practice management, pain management, and the ambulatory surgical
business. In 1997, Surgical Notes was created to address the pain points
related to digital medical records for the ambulatory surgery center and
surgical hospital markets. Surgical Notes is one of the preeminent nationwide
providers of transcription, coding, medical records, billing & collections,
and electronic health record software solutions and services for the ASC industry.
Mr. Blankinship is also a partner of Surgical Funds, offering a portfolio
of lending solutions for ambulatory surgery centers and is also a principal
in Surgical Captive, an 831b Captive Insurance Company that offers captive
insurance solutions. Mr. Blankinship also founded the Surgery Center Network
(SCN) in 2012. SCN was developed to educate self-insured employers, health
plan and third-party administrators, and consumers about the role and
value that ASCs and surgical hospitals play in the health care delivery
system and to bring these groups together to improve the quality of care
and reduce the high cost of healthcare throughout the country. Mr. Blankinship
has been actively involved in many state ASC associations, both as a member
and as a board member, and currently sits on the national ASCA Political
Action Committee in Washington D.C.
